The idea: when AI assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity describe a real person, they often present guesses as facts. They merge two people with the same name, attach an old allegation without its outcome, or invent a role or relationship. The person usually finds out when a banker, investor or journalist repeats it back to them, and correcting it is slow because there\\'s rarely one source to fix.<\/p>

Open with the background check: banks, investors, employers and journalists now ask AI about someone before they meet them, so the AI\\'s answer is the first impression.<\/p>

1. How these errors arise
2. What individuals and businesses can do about them today (correcting source material, publishing accurate information about themselves, using the providers\\' feedback and correction routes, and making sure their own name, domain and profiles are claimed so accurate sources exist)
